The low-point of the (gardening) year
A quick look at a mainstream news site this morning reminded me of the State of the Union Address last night. Among all the inane political theater, this ranks among the least interesting. This is also an event that I have come to associate with a lull in most gardening activities. Aside from building soil, there is relatively little to do in the garden at this time of the year. But even though things may seem dull, this is also a time to be hopeful. After all, the gardening conditions will not get much worse.
